John Evans Totoe
Board Chaiman

He is a result-oriented professional with proven business development success in different African Markets. His background includes the establishment of the West African affiliate of a global ethnic beauty products organisation and leadership in the development of the mobile telephony VAS segment in Ghana. 

Mr. Totoe is currently the Managing Director of Mobile Content.Com Limited, the leading provider of value-added services for mobile telephony networks in Ghana. He served as the Managing Director of Carson Products West Africa for about five (5) years. His achievements include but not limited to increasing sub regional sales from $1 million to $8 million, managing a work force of 120 with offices in Accra, Lagos and Abidjan. He also identified and developed distribution partners and new channels in all key markets.

He was recruited by Johnson & Johnson in the USA as a Marketing Manager for Johnson & Johnson South Africa and then moved to Johnson & Johnson Zimbabwe.

He subsequently served as the country manager for Johnson & Johnson in Ghana for a period of two years and a marketing consultant for SC Johnson Wax.


Mr. Totoe holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from University of Massachusetts and a BSc Honors in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. 


Mr. Stephen Oduro
Board Member

 He is the Managing Director of SIC Insurance. He has over thirty (30) years progressive experience in leading financial application systems development projects - designing, installing, and implementing such applications for banking, insurance, brokerage and healthcare industries.

He has proven skills in analysis, research, communication, design of quality assurance strategies, and negotiation. Stephen is detailed and result-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Until his appointment, he was an Associate/Senior Change Management Specialist at Brown Brothers Harriman Inc, Jersey City - USA, responsible for implementing Change Management tools for the Quality Management department.

From 1997-2000, he was a Partner/Senior Consultant at Afrisys/Constech Consulting Services, Accra, Ghana where he carried out a number of consulting service for the government of Ghana to manage Y2K conversion and designed Network topology for the Executive Office of the government of Ghana.

He also has over eight (8) years working experience on various projects and in various capacities at Prudential Insurance Company, Roseland, New Jersey. He is a product of Rutgers University, Graduate School of Management, Newark, NJ with an MBA in Computer and Information Systems with Financial Application bias and the Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York, New York City, with a B.B.A in Computer Systems.

Capt. (Rtd.) Odiatuo-Kankam Bempong
Board Member

 He is a 65 year old Retired Army Officer having served with the Colours in the Ghana Army to the Rank of a Captain.

A Graduate of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, Capt. (Rtd.) Odiatuo-Kankam Bempong was commissioned into the Ghana Army In 1975. He served in various units of the Ghana Armed Forces and holding various appointments commensurate with his rank. He undertook United Nations Peace Keeping Operations in Sinai, Egypt under U.N.E.F. and U.N.I.F.I.L. in Lebanon. He left the Service in 1983.

In civilian life, Capt. (Rtd.) Odiatuo-Kankam Bempong worked with Busi and Stephenson GH. Ltd. - a British Trading Firm as the Regional Manager for Greater Accra, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as Head of Security and The Royal Netherlands Embassy in Accra as a Field Worker.

He is presently a Co-Shareholder/Director Of Debill Services Ltd. - a Private Security organisation with specialty in Aviation Security as well as Electronic and Man-Guard Security. In addition, he is the Sole Proprietor of Eagle Eye Consultancy which undertakes investigations/verifications of documents for and on behalf of certain Foreign Missions in Accra.

Capt. (Rtd.) Odiatuo-Kankam Bempong is married with six children. He is a Christian and fellowships with Endtime Revival Mission, Tema, a non-denominational fellowship that believes in the Spoken Word Ministry. He delights in religious music and literature, games (especially football) and travelling.

Ms. Evelyn Duku
Board Member

Ms. Duku is a highly successful individual with strong commercial insight and business flair with expertise in formulating new business strategies, building effective customer relations and spearheading new marketing initiatives to drive sales, success and profitability.

She is the Managing Director for Kenthouse Securities Limited, a company which offers security services to individuals and corporate clients. For over 16 years, Ms. Duku worked with First Atlantic Bank Limited as she rose through the ranks from Corporate Planning Analyst, Relationship Manager – Corporate Banking, Assistant Manager – Banking Services, Deputy Manager – Corporate Banking, Manager – Banking Services, Head of Corporate Banking to Head – Banking Services.

Ms. Duku possesses excellent communication skills with the ability to interface at all levels. She demonstrates an absolute commitment to delivering the highest standards of customer service.

She holds a BL from the Ghana School of Law and LLB from University of London, Postgraduate Diploma from Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, Master of Business Administration from University of Wales – Cardiff and a BA Honors in English and History from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Dr. Gideon Boako

Dr. Gideon Boak is a Financial Economist and currently serves as Technical Economic Advisor at the Office of the President and Spokesperson to the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana. He was appointed unto the SIC Financial Services LTD board in early 2018. Gideon has served on the 6 Member Advisory Committee of the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR) – African Chapter since 2016. Before joining the Government, he was a Lecturer in Finance at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and previously taught at the University of the Witwatersrand and Garden City University College. Gideon holds Ph.D. in Finance (with specialization in Financial Economics) from the University of Witwatersrand. He has masters’ degrees in Finance (M.Phil. and MBA) from KNUST. Additionally, Gideon is a Charter Holder in Financial Economics (Ch.FE), and holds certificates in Financial Engineering & Risk Management, and Financial Markets from Columbia University (New York-USA) and Yale University (USA), respectively. He is a member of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR), American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM), and the African Finance and Economics Consult (AFEC) in Johannesburg. In 2016, Gideon was selected among top 18 qualified Economics/Finance young scholars in Africa for the African Institute of Financial Markets and Risk Management Economics/Finance Ph.D. Summer School held at University of Cape Town. He has been part of Ghana’s national budget preparation since 2017. In January 2017, he was invited to the Presidential Transition Team on Finance Summit to brainstorm on the possible means to restructure Ghana’s debt profile for economic growth. Dr. Boako has won several research grants/awards/scholarships including the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) Thematic Area Research Grant, University of Witwatersrand Ph.D. Merit Award, and South African National Research Foundation (NRF) Competitive Programme for Rated Researchers (CPRC) Bursary Award, Government of Ghana Scholarship, etc. He has several publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals such as the International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Finance Research Letters, Research in International Business and Finance; Physica A: Statistical Mechanics & Its Applications, Applied Economics Letters, South African Journal of Economics, etc., and has a number of articles under review in very top tier journals. He also has a book chapter published by Palgrave McMillan, and two working Papers with the Economic Research Southern Africa. Dr. Boako is editor of the Ghanaian Journal of Economics and associate editor of the African Review of Economics and Finance journal. Married with two children, Gideon enjoys a number of extra-curricular activities, notably, hang-outs, socio-political discussions, and exploring the frontiers of human consciousness
